Blue silk

Here I am prepping my sister, Sabrina, to be Justin's next painting subject. Her daughter, Isabel, wanted to pose just like her mother.

Palm tree cake

My friend Katie is a great hostess. She threw a birthday Luau for her husband Spencer (not pictured) with great decorations and even made a palm tree-shaped cake. She thought of everything. Justin didn't cooperate very well when Katie and I decided to get some pictures, as you can see by his expression.

Austin, TX

Here we are downtown Austin, TX. We just saw the bats fly out from underneath Congress Ave. bridge which is behind us. It was 104 degrees F most of the time. The city is clean and full of fun things to do. The people are nice and we really didn't see very many cowboy hats. We loved it. That shining light in the top right corner of the photo is a street light.

She's Gone

Justin and I said good bye to Sam and Tatum this week. They're moving to Chicago. It was sad. We got free pizza when we went over there because they bought it for those who helped them pack up the truck. Justin helped more than I did...I only carried 2 bags and 2 chairs. Hopefully they'll come back to California and we'll karaoke again. I'm going to miss Tatum.

High School Days

I played the French Horn in high school. I sold my horn for mission money in 1999. In the past couple of months I've been thinking a lot about picking it up again. Justin was supportive enough to go with me to buy this horn. I'm pretty rusty but I look forward to re-learning. I made it through B-flat major scale today.

Tudo Bem?

Cafe Brasil is located on Venice Blvd. in Culver City and has authentic Brazilian food. Justin and I went there to celebrate his success as an artist.

So Soon?

I went to Debbie's baby shower on July 15th. She wasn't due for 3 1/2 more weeks but just a few days later I got an email that Baby Ethan was born. Both are well. I've known Debbie and Donna since I was 10 or 11 years old.

Girl Time

I'd never tried Mary Kay before so I thought I'd host a party with Kirsten as the Mary Kay consultant. I even got a gift of cute make up bags for being the hostess. Katie brought the best spinach and artichoke dip and Tatum was kind enough to bring her fan. We had lots of "girl time" which means talking and laughing.

This is Chaz

Top: This is Chaz wearing a pinata on his head at my Cinco de Mayo birthday party.

Bottom: This is Chaz, painted by Justin, wearing a top hat.

Venice Beach

Kyle and Liz were on their way to Hawaii and stopped over in Los Angeles for a night. We had burgers at Islands for dinner... so delicious (as Katie would say). We ended up at the beach around sunset. It was a perfect evening.

Bugs Bunny on Broadway

L to R:
Natalie, Justin, Spencer, Katie

Looney Tunes at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra on Friday night. A tribute was paid to Chuck Jones. His granddaughter was there for her 20th birthday. They just don't make cartoons like they used to. That Elmer Fudd is adorable when he is angry or in love.

Justin Paints Me

My husband is an artist. Here are three of the paintings he has done of me. It is more difficult than I thought to model for him. We tried having me watch a movie but I cried during it which wasn't helpful. There sure is something romantic about being married to an artist. Check out his website for more paintings.

Ten 100

I'm on the 23rd floor...we like to call it Suite 2300 because then we sound classier. Although, I do get soda and juice anytime I want, plus we get bagels on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I like plain bagels w/o cream cheese.

On my way home

This is me...I'm driving home from Century City where I work. It takes about 15 minutes in a bit o' traffic. This was back in May but I'm wearing that same shirt today.
